Before any decorating starts, we cover the room properly. Floors, furniture, worktops, radiators and anything else that could be marked are moved, removed or protected.
We do not rely on a few loose dust sheets. Coverings are secured, edges are masked neatly and the route through your home is kept clear. It means we can get on with the work without treating the rest of your property like a building site.
Floors covered properly
Carpets, timber, tiles and other finished floors are covered with materials suited to the surface.
Furniture moved or wrapped
Furniture is moved out of the room where possible. Anything staying behind is wrapped and covered before work begins.
Fittings taken care of
Sockets, switches, handles, radiators and fixed fittings are removed or protected wherever the job requires it.
Straight, neat masking
Edges around frames, skirting, worktops and adjoining finishes are masked carefully rather than rushed.
Dust kept under control
Openings and nearby areas are protected so preparation dust is less likely to spread through the property.
Clear routes through the house
Tools, materials and coverings are kept organised so you can still move around the property safely.
Sanding is where decorating jobs usually create the most dust. Our sanders connect directly to a professional dust extractor, which pulls dust through the sanding pad as the surface is worked instead of letting it drift around the room.
It is not completely dust-free, but it makes a major difference. We can see the surface clearly, keep repairs flatter and leave far less fine powder on floors, furniture and adjoining rooms. Different sanding heads and abrasives are used for broad walls, detailed woodwork and awkward edges.

Dust is drawn through holes in the abrasive and sanding pad rather than being pushed across the surface.

Remaining fine dust is vacuumed away and the surface is wiped before primer or paint is applied.
A quiet bedroom wall, a steamy bathroom and a busy hallway should not all be finished with the same product. We choose primers and topcoats around the surface, the amount of wear it receives and how you need to clean it.
Before work starts, we explain what is being used and why. That might mean a washable wall paint in a family area, a moisture-resistant coating in a bathroom, a stain-blocking primer over water marks, or a tougher finish on doors and skirting. The aim is not simply to make the room look good on the last day—it is to help it stay looking good.
Washable paint for busy walls
Hallways, kitchens and family rooms can be finished in durable paint that tolerates regular wiping.
Moisture considered
Bathrooms and other humid rooms receive coatings suited to condensation and repeated moisture.
Stains sealed first
Water marks, smoke staining and other discolouration are isolated with the correct primer before topcoats go on.
Woodwork made hard-wearing
Doors, frames and skirting are finished with a product designed to handle knocks, fingerprints and cleaning.
Sheen agreed before painting
Matt, durable matt, eggshell and satin finishes reflect light and wear differently, so the choice is agreed in advance.
Products that work together
Existing coatings, primers and new finishes are checked for compatibility to reduce peeling, poor adhesion and uneven sheen.
Care is taken not only inside the room being decorated, but along the routes used to reach it. Floors, furniture, doors and adjoining finishes are protected wherever the work may affect them.
Tools and materials are kept organised while work is underway. At the end of the day, the area is left safe and orderly so your home remains as usable and comfortable as the project allows.
Protection is removed carefully, waste is taken away and the completed rooms are cleaned before sign-off. The aim is to leave behind the finished decoration—not the disruption that created it.

Questions, colour decisions and practical changes are discussed directly. When something unexpected becomes visible, it is explained before any additional work or cost is introduced.
